London's newest hospital opens in Whitechapel

The hospital previously occupied buildings dating back to the 18th Century, and the new building covers an area equivalent to 40 football pitches.

 

40% of the rooms are single en-suite with the reminder in four-bedded bays. The patient rooms are on the outside of the building with stunning views of the city.

 

The 17 story building, which is the same height as Big Ben, includes of 26 operating theatres and will be the new home of London’s Air Ambulance.
