Course Duration: 1 Day
The ALS course teaches the theory and practical skills to effectively treat cardiorespiratory arrest, peri-arrest situations and special circumstances. It prepares senior members of a multidisciplinary team to treat the patient until transfer to a critical care area is possible.
Candidates are given access to online resources prior to the course. At their own pace they will then study approximately 7 hours of on-line course material before attending a 1-day face-to-face course. Access to the e-learning materials continues for a total of 5 months.
NES will also be able to provide ALS Recertification Courses. Only candidates that hold a valid ALS Provider Certificate are eligible to attend the one-day recertification course. Certificates are valid for 4 years.
It is not recommended that candidates attend a recertification course if more than one year has elapsed since the expiry of their Provider certificate.
