Independent Sector

NES is the UK’s most trusted provider of managed doctor services and with rotations now covering surgery, medicine, intensive care, neurology and oncology, we have the experience and infrastructure to manage even the most demanding and complex of requirements.

The role of the Resident Doctor (formerly known as the Resident Medical Officer, or RMO) has developed significantly over the years, and we have been at the forefront of the industry, working with our clients to ensure that the doctors are providing an effective service to the benefit of the hospital and patients alike. We do this whilst taking very seriously our duty of care to ensure that the doctors have a manageable yet professionally stimulating time on duty.

We have worked with all parties to limit working hours, and unlike some companies, we seek to restrict the length of duty shifts so that our doctors remain fresh and able to attend to their duties. We have also been instrumental in devising rotations to address workloads at particularly large or busy hospitals.

We understand that your choice of provider represents a substantial investment on your part, and for that reason we employ a significant number of support staff to ensure the service runs smoothly. This includes trained, experienced clinical staff with the expertise to handle any situation that may arise.

Our Medical Staffing Managers each have portfolios that are small enough to be run effectively, thus providing our clients and doctors with regular contact, both in person and on the telephone, with a dedicated member of our team.

The Medical Staffing Managers are backed up by a highly efficient administrative team to ensure that the paperwork that accompanies each doctor is comprehensive, verified as accurate and current.

This documentation includes:

  • Diploma

We liaise closely with all of our client hospitals, whether they are part of a corporate group or an individual facility. We actively encourage and facilitate feedback so that it can be used either to improve our recruitment process or to augment our Training and Assessment Programme.

In addition, the Medical Director, our Resuscitation Lead, our Operations Director and all of our staff are continually available to discuss any aspect of our service with our clients.
